How to connect 5500PC PCI to your com and to the network(C-bus 2 or ToolKit)?

    What have you tried so far that hasnt worked? Have you done any C-Bus Training?

    Dont have any training :( just got one from work but havent tried it yet
    i mainly program by CNI.
    Want to know how to setup it

    OK so unsure what you do and dont know.

    PCI is connected to your Computer by a serial cable.. (DB9 plugs both ends), the PCI is connected to your network via a peice of C-Bus Cable (the PCI end is RJ45, and the other end is also normally RJ45 and plugged into a convenient matching C-Bus RJ45 socket such as those found on DIN Rail Output Units.

    How about the RJ 45(Marked RS232 Label) port on top of the PCI?Another port to connect to PC?Work just like the RS232 Serial port?

    It is the same as the 9-pin port. Download the PCI installation guide fron cis if you only have the hardware. There is a pin assignment of the RJ45 connector for the RS232 connection.

    Just make sure you never mix up the RS232 cable with the C-Bus cable :D The PCI is a lot easier to use than a CNI.
