I was wondering if anyone could help me with defaulting (initializing) a 5500PC Ver 4.6. I am trying to integrate it with a Concept 4000 alarm panel and they wont communicate with each other.

All the research I have done on this and other forums seems to indicate I need to default the PCI. I have tried setting modes with the diagnostic utility to no avail. One thing I did notice is that the PCI is not setting to 1200 baud as the concept panel is meant to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would sugest the Concept Programing Manual is a good place to start.

    C-Bus Comms Task Format
    C-Bus Auxiliaries

The concept will set the baud rate of the PCI

Set up a home auxiliary with "toggle from keypad" to bring on an unused auxiliary eg.C01:X03.

Set up a "CBus Aux" eg. C01:X03 to turn a CBus group on and off.

Turn the home Aux on from the keypad and the cbus group should turn on.

After reading the Concept Prog Manual numerous times like I did (I'm a bit slow), make sure the comms task is active, Detailed Review and.... review is your friend.

In addition to what Shepard said.

What is the version of the concept panel?

Prior to V7 (from memory) the baud rate was fixed at 1200, now it can be changed and the default of 9600 should be used.

There was also a small bug that was fixed at the same time that would cause problamatic connections.

The concept panel will take care of initialising the PCI.

    Cheers
