    Hi ex-Pushers,

It seems the latest update to IOS 18.5 on iPhone has made the Push GUI inoperative, confirmed by SE TS.

Have any remaining Push clients temporarily turn off IOS auto-update if you wish to delay their inevitable Push system losing functionality.

    :(

Yep I encountered this yesterday. 8-TV Matrix Switch setup now basically useless. Not fun to have to tell the client sorry mate we can't do anything except install a whole new control system for you.

Robbo, very similarly my client is a large 8 x TV HDMI matrix site install, a projector theatre plus full all of home fully integrated control system. It'll be a very expensive endeavour to replace it all.

It is a definitely a problem for go forward, but in my client's case as an immediate interim fix I loaded a new image of Push from app store on his son's older iPhone which had an older IOS and then uploaded the GUI. It worked immediately just like before and his son is happy he'll be getting a new iPhone to replace his seconded one. Also set all the iPad's to not update IOS as they are all primarily control system GUIs in ejectable iDocks and still work as before.

I discovered this issue earlier today when I went to use our system at home. Fortunately, we had one iPad in the house that had not updated so we have a single device that still works.

Any ideas what caused the update to make the GUI inoperative? Damned annoying given there's no support available (presumably).

Welcome to the world of App-Hell.

The day developers dread, and the users hate.

Of course, it's always the App vendors fault when Apple or Google break something. The App vendors then need to do new development and release updates (which of course can't be charged for).

Re Apple in particular: my business used to do some iPhone development. In order to do this, you need to buy a Mac. Then when that's not supported, you need to buy another Mac. And another. I think we have bought 3 or 4 so far.

The costs and kickings never stop.

    App development sucks.

I have sighted up for the first time to reply to this topic.
Hello – I’m new to Cbus and signed up purely to reply to this Topic.

Pls do NOT give up on the PUSH app now owned by Schneider just yet.

I lodged a ticket on this very issue directly with Schneider last May right after the Apple update and after a lot of communication, today I seem to have been taken seriously by an Advanced Technical Support Engineer at Schneider.

He has requested some background information of my system so they can “offer and manage a better understanding of my request.”

The App is still owned by Schneider Electric and offered on the Apple istore as of today. Even if the app was free, the system it controls is not — its core function depends entirely on that software. Perhaps thousands of Australians over many years have outlaid big money for AV systems built around the PUSH app, not to mention the extra programming costs to tailor such systems.

I am hoping there is no need to go down the path of relying on Australian Consumer Law (ACL) but I quote a few examples that are likely relevant in this case:

    - Section 54: Goods must be of acceptable quality — safe, durable, and free from defects. A system rendered unusable by foreseeable software changes is not of acceptable quality.

    - Section 55: Goods must be fit for their intended purpose. The PUSH system was clearly installed to control AV systems through the app. The system is now no longer fit for purpose.

I hope that Schneider Electric will take a proactive and responsible approach to resolving this matter for its legacy customer base. I will keep the thread updated when I know more.
