    Hi all,

Are we able to dim a group address from a multi sensor, like we can from a light level sensor?

    Thanks,

    hi,
I found (using lots of c-bus and non c-bus trough bus coupler) sensors that letting the group adress triger a scene on your cts or pac with set levels work well, and that pretty much ends there. For anything else to work smoothly rather do some logic code

you can how ever write logic to dim a group or trigger a secene through the multi sensor state, code example to follow

In the Multisensor the feature that dims a group address up and down, such that the level of the group follows the light level is called Light Level Broadcasting.

In the Multisensor the feature that dims a group address up and down, such that a defined lux level is maintained, is called Light Level Maintenance.

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the reply. So is it possible to turn a group on and off according to occupancy, and that same group address be dimmed according to light level, but only while the area is occupied?

I assume by this statement you mean that you want the Multisensor to increase or decrease the level of a lighting group address, such that a constant light level is maintained, regardless of changes in natural lighting?

If so, then the answer to your question is Yes.

Using Toolkit, firstly, configure the unit to work as a regular motion detector.
Secondly, on the Light Level tab:
    - Tick the box to enable Light Level Maintenance
    - Select the Group Address in the Block drop-down box that matches the one used by the motion sensor.
    - Set the desired target light level and margin parameters

Keep in mind that the light level measured on the ceiling, where the Multisensor most likely is, will be quite different to the light level on a desk below.

You should end up with Day Move, Night Move and Light Level Maintenance functions all assigned to the same Group Address
