I have put together a POC of using google assistant to control c-bus loads.

I say to the assistant on my phone "Turn On/Off the **** light"

It uses IFTTT, busybox http and a cgi written in C.

I find it works well for how cobbled together it is. Takes about 5 seconds after speaking the command till the load is switched.

It is not nearly as polished as homebridge-cbus

Does anyone have an interest in this ? If so I will do a write up and publish the code. Got to warn in advance though that my code could be messy.

    Cheers
    Andrew

Sounds cool. For what it's worth, I do enjoy seeing Google Home integrations.

I'm supprised of the little to no interest. Are there other c-bus Google Assistant integrations about?

I've since tidied it up a bit, it's one application now and doesn't rely on a http server. I've also ported it made a windows.

I will post a link when I get the code on GitHub.

I'll add that I have read and followed this.
I'm just not up to the link to phone/voice yet.
The to do list is a bit too long but it is on the list.....

I'd be quite interested in implementing this. I've just obtained a
'Google Home" which utilises google assistant and would love to be able to control c-bus loads with it. A link to the code would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Pat.

    CBUS with Google Home

    Hi,

+1 for me on google home integration with CBUS.
I have the CBUS Audio system and it would be great to get the google home device to turn it on and play the appropriate song.

    Hi Andrew12,

I rarely come here and usually only when I am trying to solve a problem. (It is so long since my last visit that my account seems to have been purged! ;))

My visit today was specifically to see if anyone is doing anything with C-Bus and Google Home.

I am interested in, and would like to encourage, your efforts.

    Regards,
    Ian.

    Google Home and Cbus

I would like to give this a bit of encouragement too.

Not that I have one, but I am sure in the not too distant future a customer will ask the question.

Hey guys, just letting you know Smart Voice supports the Google Home as well as the Amazon Echo. All you need is a CNI (Wiser 2 is preferred) and a Home or Echo, no additional on site hardware required. Drop us an email or a message for more information :)

    Hello Smartvoice
    That is great.
    Thanks for popping in here.

    Any news on Siri?

edit How do you do that with no hardware on site?
Does the customer open their CNI to the internet?

    Hey Daryl,

We're actively developing a solution for HomeKit, and plan to launch a solution early next year.

Due to the way Google and Amazon manage their voice services, we're able to host the logical elements of Smart Voice in the cloud, and use the CNI to send commands to your CBus network. For this to work, you'll need to do some port forwarding on your local router.

    Hope that helps!

    Hey Guys,
I too, am really keen to get google home/assistant working with C-Bus. Not super experienced with C-Bus but if someone knows how to set it all up, I would be willing to pay someone to come do it.
