    Hi Everyone!

I've just completed the basic programming course in South Africa and have landed my first project which will include lighting (3 x 8 ch dimmers, 1 x 12 channel relay, DLT's, Saturns, BW Touch Panel and integration with Elan System 6 and Z880 video matrix).

The training gave me a basic intro (have been practicing on my test board) but clearly with the NIRT, Touch Panel etc. I'm going to come into difficulties / challenges.

What is your best advice as far as R&D goes in these areas - Tutorials or help files? Other resources? In case you suggest it, there is no PICED training in this country, so I'm on my own...

    Thanks in advance.

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

A good place to start is on the CIS website, there are several resources there to help you along, such as:

    Training Manuals
    Product Installation Instructions
    &
    Frequently Asked Questions

Also, you can download PICED from here. You will find that with the PICED software, is extensive help and sample files, as well as several other invaluable resources.

The C-Bus Infrared Commissioning Software (CIRCA), can be downloaded from here, to get you started playing with the NIRT,

And all other C-BUS software can be obtained from here.

And as always, if you get stuck or want to ask a question that you can't find an answer to, there is always this forum, full of some VERY smart CIS guys, as well as alot of people in the industry with enormous amounts of experience.

    Best of luck,

    Darpa :)

    Thanks!

    Hi Darpa

Thanks a ton for that - we were given pretty much all of the available pdf's on the training course, so I'll persevere and am glad to know I can post questions here. Until then, it's TRFM for me...

    Richard:)
