    Toolkit now has this:

Ceiling Sweep Fan Controller, catalogue number SLC5501RFCP

Is this really coming, or is it the Aussie version of an April fools joke? :)

From poking around, it seems to indicate that the (long awaited) new product might update the label on a DLT to indicate the fan speed?

Yes. And Yes. Finally. OK so maybe it is not yet formally available (I'm not 100% sure) but it is coming. And it will update DLT labels. And it is very cool. Thats a joke cos its a fan controller :)

    Minimum Info

Is there any chance to get the actual size of the fan controller in DIN modules?
We?ve got several projects where we can use it in the future, so we?d like to reserve space at the switchboards.

    Thanks a lot.

Any chance we can get RRP to give us some idea on pricing?

I am about to slam the bag on a design here and one thing that would have been nice on 5 fans out of 12 was fan speed control so it might not be too late to plan it in.

Is there a release date slated?

    Cheers,

Will this new fan controller eliminate previous vibration problems at low speeds? - occurs sometimes with these phase controlled fan speed controllers on switch plates?

    Indeed it will.
The new fan controller does not use phase control to regulate fan speed.
Speed is regulated by switching in different reactances in series with the fan motor, depending on the chosen speed.
This is a proven, reliable method to achieve the quietest possible fan operation at low speed.

So we are not ramping the fan speed from 0 to 100, but rather we have three distinct speeds much like you get with the fasn speed selector you get with the fan now - is that a fair assumption?

It's in the trade pricing guide... $150Trade ex GST

    No, not at this stage.

Yes... the fan control relay will take the capacitor(s) supplied with the fan and switch in and out of circuit to obtain up to three speeds, with high speed being DOL

Has anyone used one of these yet? What is the programming like?

I had a very quick look in Toolkit, one button control uses dimming for Off, Low, Medium and High, or the Fan Speed Cycle function available only on the DLTs. Is this correct? Does not seem ideal for non-DLT switches. Shutter relay functionality is great, would rather cycling through Off, Low, Medium and High rather than dimming. I guess the LED feedback is more useful this way though :S

Fan Speed Cycle functionality will be available from all C-Bus switches. Even v1.00 switches can do it (provided you put the primary application on Trigger Control in that case). Switches that support scenes will also extinguish the indicator on fan speed cycle keys when the fan is stopped.

    Help is your friend!

A lot of good work goes into the Toolkit help file and tutorials these days: "C-Bus ceiling sweep fan controller single master configuration tutorial"

The 5084NL only has 4 buttons. You say you want to control a fan with each button and you have 5 fans. Can you clarify?
