Enable scheduling

I'm trying to do some scheduling on my PAC and falling at the first hurdle. Can someone explain Enable Control to me? I've Googled for ages but none of it makes sense.

It seems that I can maybe make a dummy lighting group and turn it on or off to enable the schedule, but that seems a very unelegant solution. I'd rather not have any dummy groups, how do I do it properly?

Enable control is just another lighting compatible application where you can put group addresses that enable and disable stuff rather than filling up your normal lighting application. If you don't need to be able to disable your schedules remotely, just don't use it. If you need to disable schedules remotely you need a group address to do it, so it's not really a dummy group. You can put it in any lighting compatible application you like (the drop down list shows you them all). The only limitation is that most switches only support 2 applications, so if you are already using the secondary application for something else (like triggering a scene) and also want the ability to control a schedule from the same switch you need to put the group address in the lighting application.

 

I tried to bypass it but it wouldn't let me.

So how would I assign a button on a switch to be an enable group?

When editing the schedule, on the enable tab just select<Unassigned> for the group. The schedule will be permanently on.

On the first tab of the switch select Enable Control as the secondary application, then to the left of a group address click the P in the box to select the secondary application for that button. The drop down list will now show items from that application. This works for saturn and neo switches from version 1.6 onwards and any DLT.

For an eDLT just select an Enable widget.
