Edlt no serial number in toolkit unable to open

I am now replacing a 3rd Edlt that has just gone blank (fitted 2016) the new switch will not program. It can be seen in toolkit but will not load. Also showing no serial number. 2 fatal messages come up


I have tried 2 units with the same results

 

Had the similar this week on a site with new eDLTs. Latest Toolkit (V1.16.2) has given me grief. Also reporting firmware wrong firmware version (showing 1.6 instead of 5.5.00. Rolled back to V1.16.0 ( had to roll back cgate too) and it 'sorta' worked. Not getting the same on my existing home network. Haven't tried a new eDLT unit on the home one yet. I'll try over the weekend

 

I running 1.15.7 so I don’t think that is the issue. Also tried to update firmware and it will not load.

Hey Ian, we had this issue - if it's a new eDLT I think you will need at least Toolkit 1.16.0. Should solve that problem...no doubt will introduce others!!

 

After spending quite a bit of time trouble shooting, you need to be running the latest Toolkit (V1.16.2) and make sure CGate is cleaned out properly by checking the 'Remove any old C-Gate files...' checkbox during installation.




I didn't do this previously and it has caused me no end of pain. There must have been a rogue legacy file in there somewhere.

After completing this, my systems both locally and remotely are working with eDLTs

 

Bingo thank you. Upgrading toolkit sorted it, not that it was easy to find but up and running now.
