Edlt failed after upgrading firmware to 1.6

Hi,

Has anyone had any issues with upgrading the firmware on edlt's?

I've just had 2 out of 10 fail when i completed the firmware upgrade to 1.6, 1 keeps on rebooting itself after 5 seconds, and the other one has a blank screen

both where made / installed late 2019

 

I had the blank screen issue on a few 2020 models, but managed to fix. Don’t remember the exact steps I followed to resolve, but I’m pretty sure it was something like using toolkit to reset the device to factory settings, and then do the firmware upgrade again. My firmware upgrade stalled the first time I tried it , but thankfully even after this botched attempt the device still showed up in a toolkit network scan, so I had the reset option… maybe I got lucky…Also I recall changing the foreground and background colours via toolkit to something ugly like red and green, which seemed to wake it up and at least not be black anymore… after a few repeated attempts I eventually got it sorted…. Once you have the screen working again set the colours back to normal. Sorry I can’t be more specific, I knew I should have wrote it down at the time!

 

I am experiencing firmware update issues when the eDLT firmware is prior to 1.5 then I get this message


Firmware 1.5 to 1.6 works perfectly, but any other firmware will not update even incrementally.
Will update if I find a solution

 

I was successful eventually in updating the firmware, but a bit of a farce to do it.
Installed an earlier version of toolkit (Ver 1.15.7) on a different laptop that had never had toolkit on it updated the firmware using this laptop to 1.15. Then using my main laptop running toolkit 1.16.0 updated the firmware to 1.16.

 

Thanks guys, during the update I didn’t receive any timeout issues or errors, I’ve tried to flash the firmware again but the edlt’s keep on disconnecting before the firmware could be reinstalled

I’ve submitted a warranty claim to Schneider , they are going sending their service agents out to have a look!

 

I was updating from firmware 1.5 to 1.6, So I could edit them with toolkit 1.16

 

I've had the same edlt 1.6 firmware issue on 2 different sites. Same thing several of them will just randomly power off and reboot to the device info page. I'm rolling them all back to 1.5

 

I haven’t had any issues with the other units since updating to 1.6

Schneider replaced the 2 faulty units I had under warranty with the new 2.0hw version

I'm having the same issue... 2 units out of 5 just continuously reboot after upgrade to v1.6 (both are v2.0 hardware) ... did you find a resolution or is it off to Clipsal for a warranty?

 

yeah just swapped them over & they were fine

 

clipsal warranty came to site and replaced mine (they were just on two years old)
