eDLT availablity?

What is the current deliver status on the eDLTs?

I am seeing mixed messages here given there seemed to be initial quality issues with them.

Have those issues now been resolved?

Are the units now shipping that satisfy the quality issues originally raised?

Have a job about to start requiring about 20 of them and don't want to spec them in and not be able to get them.

Depending upon the model (colour) you are looking for. I believe the pure white is the most popular and there are heavy backorders for this. There are ocean mist in stock still but these will be the initial stock release.

All new stock will have the issues fixed from the initial release. Bear in mind, the issues were not present on all products.

I'm being told stock will be coming into stores from beginning of July and will continue until August.

Sorry I cannot provide any further info... I no longer look after C-Bus product so I can only ask on status.

FWIW, I've installed 7 of the production eDLT's and haven't seen the problems that have been experienced by some.

I did start another thread on this as well, but 2 months ago I was told not to buy 20 for a project due to the issues, and the new ones would be released end of May into June.

Last week, with the house now literally waiting for light switches so the owners cant move in, we were told July and now this week Haymans is now saying August.

This has been so bad, we look so bad to the client.

So do I go and buy 20 DLT's just to use for a month or two, and then throw away? Thats more than the profit I am making on the job!!!

I'm no longer involved with C-bus product but I will follow up on Tuesday and get some answers. I hadn't heard of any more delays

Looks like building stock to service backorders is the problem :-(

As backorders are quite high, the date quoted to you sounds about right

From what I can see, the only stock in warehouses are...

5085EDLW-OM .... This is Ocean Mist colour with a white grid
5085EDLB-OM .... This is Ocean Mist colour with a black grid

I assume you are looking for pure white colour product which is what everyone is looking for

Thanks for looking mate. This makes us look stupid, so I hope Clipsal knows that the launch fiasco was bad, and this compounds it a lot when you are pushing their switches, and you just cant get them.

 

I had ordered a couple for my place just over a 11 weeks ago now. They were the mid brown units so I understood they had to be specially made. Just been told they are another 6 to 8 weeks away from being manufactured. Fingers crossed they come through this time, but would hate to be stuck explaining this to a client. Still, looking forward to getting them

 

Two eDLT's arrived this morning, after ordering them 2 weeks ago.
Granted I did ring CIS to see what was available, and get the Ocean Mist ones - apparently the other colours are coming soon...

At this stage mine are for testing only, so the colour didn't matter that much.

 

I ordered Pure White in October 2013? 9 months later still waiting. Has been paid for too!

 

I was November with my first ones, and it was only after they arrived at Haymans was I told I probably shouldnt take them as there were known issues with them. So then the wait continued for these, which I was told June, then July and now likely August.

I thought it was always better to under-promise, rather than make promises that cant be kept. *grin*

Anyway, really not happy with this, and as I said before, makes us look like idiots, and clients have moved in and have holes in walls waiting for the switches, using their phones and RTI remotes to control lights.

 

About to order a good number of eDLT's for a new build which is now underway. Gotta say the delivery track record and other issues noted on the forum makes me jittery.

I am still yet to see out order.

 

All depends on the colours.
I ordered a couple in Ocean Mist (black grid) and they arrived within a fortnight .
It pays to check as I believe white are still on back order along with the black version (my original choice).

A tip when mounting - don't tighten the security screws too much as they impede the operation of the bottom switch. I thought I had a faulty unit, but backed the screw off half a turn and all was good.

 

Ouch....that is long and painfull.

I have 17 eDLT for a new project on order BUT based on your experience have ordered them probably 4-5 months ahead of when I wanted to but again based on your experience when I thought I needed too.

Sorry to hear you still have not closed your project out yet. Thanks for sharing your experience, this has highlighted the need to order way ahead of what would I would normally do. Happy to have them sitting here a month or two ahead of time.

Hope your units arrive soon and you can close your job out.

Finally got all of ours delivered last week! Finally!

 

Walked into the local L&H and got myself a Pure White with white grid off the shelf - the wait, I believe, is over!
