so i have had a friend ask me if it is possible to edit a few things on their EDLT. now ive done a bit of new work with cbus but never edited an existing home.
but he mentioned he got another sparky in to have a look and he said that he cant edit it without having to re program the whole house as he "doesnt have the original file"? is this at all correct? and is it possible to to download it somehow off the system?

also ill probably make another thread for this but has anyone had experience with with programing a clipsal matrix, to change radio stations through the edlt?

    thanks

There's no need to re-program the whole system. But, the file would make things a whole lot easier. If the installation has a 6.4" CTC touchscreen, then it's possible to extract the file from there. If not, all is not lost.

C-Bus works like this. The devices on the network have addresses in them. The file maps the addresses to real-world names. If you scan a network without the file, you will just see the addresses. You can make changes to devices like the eDLT without the file.
