How will the E5100TAU effect answering machines. I an answering machine is set to answer after a certain number of rings, should the E5100TAU be set to come on before it or after it?

Slightly confused as to how someone can leave a message with these devises in operation?

Is a seperate phone line required?

Use the option to answer on a second dial-in, and set the number of rings to answer to less than the number of rings used by your answering machine.

Result (suppose answering machine set to answer after 5 rings, CBTI set to answer after 3):

    Case 1:
Dial-in... ring ring ring ring ring... answering machine picks up.

    Case 2:
Dial-in... ring ring ring (maybe 1 more) HANG UP... wait 15-20 seconds
dial-in... ring ring ring CBTI picks up and answers the call

This way both devices can play in the same pig-pen happily.
