Has any doorbell been realeased or in pre-release stage yet?

A door bell can already be done using a key input unit and a relay channel. If you need a weatherproof input then any dry contact momentary switch can be wired to a bus coupler.

I can't imagine that anything developed in-house would be able to compete with the "disposable" style units already available, that are made in the millions and sold for pennies.

If you think there's a genuine need for such a product then please jot a few ideas down (price you're willing to pay, expected features, installation method, etc) and forward them to Clipsal C-Bus Product Management. They're always open to new product ideas from the field.
