Does having a 5500PACA obviate the need for the CBUS Clock Unit

I'm wondering whether the 5500PACA logic device is able to perform (in addition to everything else it does) all timing functionality that the CBus Clock Units (like 5031V2TC7). Put simply - if you've got a PACA - is the clock unit unnecessary?

I note the Clock Units have non-volatile memory to avoid losing events during power failures - does anyone know if the PACA also has non volatile memory.

    Many thanks folks.

The PAC unit is capable of everything that the clock module is capable + a lot more. PAC memory is non volatile and retains program information. PAC also has internal backup for roughly 24 hours.

The only thing the clock unit does that the PAC doesn't is display the information on a neat little LCD screen. Also any programming that is programmed into the PAC is not as easy to change as the equivalent in the C-Bus clock unit.

Being a Pascal logic based unit the PAC is far more powerful but not designed to replace the feature list of the C-Bus clock unit.
