DMX - 550DMX - Documentation shows DMX Desk?

    I'm reasonably competent on DMX but I have noticed in a couple of documents that a DMX Desk is shown after the 5500DMX. Is this correct? I would have thought this would mean two masters were in place which as I have always understood is incorrect? (without a merge device)

    If this can be done it would be quite useful e.g. to get sound to light

    Some DMX Desks support this. They can take a DMX stream in, mangle it about with the inclusion of the levels for their own slots, and then re-transmit the stream again with the extra info added. The Desk becomes the new master.

    Great thanks - I was wondering about this. Not sure how you discriminate but I will have a look around.
