I certainly have no issues with this type of information being posted here.

I would like to know the supplier as well. PM me if you have concerns about posting it here.

It is not a Clipsal product so it must fall inside general topics and it does not have HDMI because this technology is only fast enough to generate CVBS signal conversion (which is still DVD quality). To recode HDMI into COFDM is one of the high levels of signal engineering.

Talking with the Kingray guys at Cedia, and they indicated that they should have somthing later this year as well.

Prices are starting to come down as well - about time too.

There are two cheaper products on the market.

Does not support Infra Red http://www.tecatel.com/icloud/index.php 2K only

Supports infra-red http://www.resi-linx.com/range.php?maincat=30 2K and 8K supported, also supports DSI.

Later this year for CEDIA Australia you will be able to obtain HDMI-COFDM for $1,200 AUD.

By 2013 there is an expected technology to emerge that enables modified DLNA to become a new method in data transmittion. Rather than acting as a server it will act as a source.

    HDMI Digital Modulators

National Antenna Systems have a 4 channel and single channel HD Digital modulator with HDMI inputs. I've seen it and it looks outstanding. Very expensive unless it's for a large commercial project.

The resilinx SD digital modulator is a nice and cheap digital solution, but looks only marginally better than a well set up analogue system using the on board composite inputs.

New economical SD digital TV RF modulator.

Resi-linx have just released a new RL-DM1100 single input standard definition DVB-T digital TV RF modulator. We have not tested one yet, but it seems to be a more economical version of the RL-DM1000.

You can download the data sheet and installation manual (without having to sign up and provide your email address) from: http://www.cleverhome.com.au/products/digital-TV-RF-modulators.shtml

Purchased the Italian Fracarro model (Composite) for $499.

    3 important details
    -------------------
    * Grey market TV's / Low production volume TV's / Old TV's with MPEG-2 only probably wont work with the modulator. The modulator runs on MPEG-4.

    * While this model is expected to produce 576P, it produces close to 700P - notably the image quality improved over a period of minutes.

    * $200 setup tool with configuration port access is worthwhile. It supports more than 20 Fracarro products with the same setup port. Allows custom channel naming and much faster frequency allocation.

One TV known not to work was a Philips Cineos from 2008. It couldn't decode the frames or lock on. Sharp TV's with MPEG2 dont work and Grey Market imports suffer.
