I'm trying to setup remote access - I have an asus router that includes free ddns in the form of "username".asuscom.com and I have its unique dns ip address - but in the piced options under ddns there is a dropdown list with a limited number of DNS services and the asus one isnt listed - is there a work around this that anyone knows of?

if you set up ddns in the router you don't need to (and shouldn't) set it up in any other device. DDNS simply maps a URL (in this case "username".asuscom.com) to you dynamically assigned ip address from your isp. If the ip address changes, the ddns client in the router will update the url automatically.

What you then need to do is open up ports in the router and direct then to the appropriate lan ip address and port.
