    Hi,

We are in the process of finishing a job with our first DALI component, very small only 24 fittings. The Ballasts are ATCo excel one for all and we have used the Atco SCI serial interface, and windim 4.0

There are two devices that show up in the scan, however they do not seem to respond to any on or off commands from windim or gateway. Can I safely assume these 2x DALI Ballasts are dead ? The other 22 work fine and the mapping to C-bus works well fpr all the other groups.

    thanks:confused:

    Dead

Dont waste your time on these 2 ballasts. If you have supply voltage and 15 v DALI voltage at the teminals of your ballast there is nothing else to check.

    Dali sorted- new ballasts

    thanks A & K for reply.
It appears that when suggesting that ballasts may be faulty the makers are quick to point out that a ballast failure is unlikely and strange, shouldn't happen, could be the cabling,,, etc voltage. It turns out somehow two devices were inadvertently addressed the same. They caused considerable pain and time trying to verify faults with our cabling. Replaced with 2 new ballasts all good.

Would hate to have this problem over 5 or more Dali networks with 60 devices in each.

    cheers

The business of addressing DALI in particular is not all that flash and it can be difficult to resolve what should be simple issues.

    Ah, the joys of DALI.
