Dali Powersupply

Please let me know what is the DALI power supply which is shown in the wiring diagram of DALI Gateway

DALI power supply

The DALI power supplies are required to power the DALI devices (ballasts, group controllers, scene controllers etc) on the DALI universe. All DALI devices require an external bus supply similar to C-Bus

 

it also make me confuse when first time using dali..

in EIB/KNX system like Merten, or Other, for the dali Gateway, they have already a built in power supply for that.. only Clipsal C-bus that have selling the power supply seperately.. yeah, actually the have a package that we can buy with a power supply too, but the power supply the give also from tridonic atco..

make sure you get a tools for addressing dali ballast too..

by the way.. why dimming using dali gateway through cbus, it not as smooth as using the other system like osram??? look like the fade rate or fade step in c-bus have problem with dali..

DALI bus need power, around 16v, 250ma, the power can be supplied by controller or you can use one external transfomer conect one 70 OHM /5w resistor to supply power if the controller without power supply.

May be you can set the parameter of FADETIME and FADERATE so lamps will dimming smoothly .
