Ctc3 only connects to cbus if also connected to ctc2

    Hi all

The title pretty much explains the problem. I have a ctc2 that's nearly quitting on me - screen strobes a bit, IR doesn't really work, errors come up when starting up. So I got a new ctc3 with everything loaded up fine. It's got it ms own address in toolkit. And it works, but only when I either connect to another unit, which is the old ctc2. And it doesn't matter which unit connects to cbus first, as long as another unit is connected.

    Any ideas?

The cbus connection level top left often goes all the way to 99% load then fails

I also have this little rj45 termination plug but that didn't work either

    All good now!

Figured it out. Had to apple enable cbus clock and enable burden checkboxes

As you can see I'm a novice. Could someone explain these two things? :)

    Hi tpan84
I think more information is required.
Are both the screens connected to a functioning CBus network?

By little RJ45 plug do you mean a plug in network burden?
I don't know if this is your problem but a CBus network needs a CBus power supply, a network burden, a system clock and a CBus interface if you want to connect to it.

    CBus network requires a burden.
    Usually only one.
A plug in burden is good.
A software enabled burden also works.
Software burden can only be enabled on unit address 1.
Only certain types of units have a software burden function (usually output units).
eg unit address 1 should always be an output unit.

CBus networks must have a system clock enabled.
3 activated system clocks on a CBus network is recommended for redundancy.
Output unit LED indicators will indicate missing CBus clock and also other CBus network problems

CBus networks must also have a CBus power supply.
The amount of power supplies depends on the load of the CBus devices attached to the network.
Up to a maximum of 2000mA which is the rating of the CBus cabling.
