Hi guys, please forgive my ignorance in advance.
I am in the process of connecting my wiser to my network consisting of:

    1.Broadband modem
    2.Time Capsule (main router)
    3. 8 port switch

I want to connect the wiser to the switch but am battling with IP address issues.
My network broadcasts on the 10.0.1.# range.

Do i need to re-address the CNI on the wiser to the 10. range and then the wiser to the 10. range?

Any help would be much appreciated.

The Appleness of your network is really an illusion. The function of time machine is the only unique feature which has no negative impact on WISER.

There was a recent thread on subnet masking and making sure that the mask was 24 bit and not 8 bit. '

    That is,

    255.255.255.0 instead of 255.0.0.0

    Thanks Tobex.

The subnet mask is already 255.255.255.0

Maybe I should fork out the $$ for a point 1 guy to come over and set it up.

    Is anyone near Malabar?

You want to setup the WISER as a project file in your Apple ?

Yes. If your home network is operating in the 10.0.1.x range, then the Wiser and the CNI need to also be on this subnet. You should give them static IP addresses, and make sure that these addresses are outside the range of addresses that the DHCP server in the Time Capsule is managing.

I would suggest you use the Wiser in LAN mode, and make sure that the DHCP server in the Wiser is disabled. You will also need to set up port forwarding in the Time Capsule to forward the ports that the Wiser uses to the Wiser's IP address.

    Thanks Nick

Ive changed the wiser and the CNI to the 10. range.
Ive also set up the wiser in LAN mode, the DHCP and wireless are disabled.
Im going to have a go at the port forwarding in the next couple of days.
