Communicating Thermostat

    Does anybody know any communicating thermostats which can be used with C-Bus?

    Communicating Thermostats

    C-Bus does not support a direct interface to a communicating thermostat. The only way to do this is to use a thermostat with an C-Bus auxilairy input which chages state at the set temperature point to control a C-Bus relay. This will only give you on/off control of the AC plant.

    OK I suppose I should let the cat out of the bag.

    A new C-Bus Thermostat is now in development. It will support control of basic A/C plant using the "RWG" connection type (24 V ac with relays). It will also support networked operation, multiple zones, setback for energy saving, and a few other nice features.

    Its being designed so that when released it can be used for RWG a/c plant immediately and there is enough future growth potential there to allow it to be used for all kinds of other a/c plant types in future.

    As usual, don't ask about a likely release date - suffice it to say that its likely to be 12 to 18 months away....

    sorry, read post date wrong. Thought post was 2004 not 2005... either way, look forward to seeing the new thermostat.

    Will the features be open to discussion down the track? Many thermostat on the market have lots of features such as night setback, econ, duel fuel, auto changeover, aux heat, adjustable dead-band...

    PS... please put the thermistor in a good position for error free measurement!
