When I Transfer now, since the software/Firmware upgrade, I get an error saying :-

    Internal error has occured
Please close current application and try again
If the Problem persists, please contact Blaa blaa blaa..."

    Just after "Preparing Cbus project"
If I click OK a couple of times then it loads and I'm on to the next phase
seems ok but there is obviously something wrong

    Any ideas?
    Mike
Just got Homevision talking to Cbus via serial link on Colour touch so I'm happy anyway!!

Does it just happen with that one project or any project? If it's just that one project can you contact Technical Support and send them a copy of the project so Darren can have a look at what is going on.

This is most likely caused by a failed download of new software. Try transferring the update package again and wait for the Colour C-Touch to re-boot.

I've done a bit more work on this

To clear things up the fault happens before the project is loaded into the colout touch screen and all the errors are on my PC screen

I have built a new Project by rescanning the network
then renaming all the tag names (Long time!!)
At this point I was able to prepare the project for transfering
I then added all the Tag level names and levels (even Longer!!)
At this point I got the internal error when I tried to prepare the project for transfer :-(
So I would guess it has something to do with Tag names /levels
this Project (well the old project ) didnt show the effect on the origional Colour touch software

I have sent the file to tech support a while back but havent heard anything

Hope this helps as I'm out of ideas
    Thanks
    Mike

    Thanks For Fix!!!
Slightly long post but I feel it is worth it
I sent my file to Tech support and in Italics are their findings
    Non Italics are my observasions

I decided not to load back my .cta
But to correct my origional file
Colin Cadman who sorted the problem might be cursing at this stage
    "Why did I bother"
but I wished to confirm his findings

    The problems are as follows.
1 group address tags that are longer than 20 characters cause a problem when the project is exported to C-bus V2 which the Colour C_touch requires. I Have shortened all oversized Tags

Correct I had about 5 entries which were longer than 20
I know should have RTFM (still haven't sussed how I should have known this)
    {comment not complaint})

2 Characters such as / also cause problems as above again I have fixed these for you.

Correct OK I should ave known better :(

3 In piced you created Tags on the UnUsed Group address on the Trigger control application. I have altered your piced project so that any scenes which where triggered by an UnUsed Group address and an associated level or Tag, are not controlled by an UnUsed Group and Level Now they show UnUsed Group and UnUsed Tag if you wish to have anything different please select or create a different Group address than UnUsed.

Correct I found one but honestly I dont know how it got there!!
one of my tag levels was labled <unused> = 0

4 V2 doesn't accept duplicate Level names within an Application, so when exporting to V2, Toolkit adds suffix 01, 02, 03, etc to the Level name if one already exists in V2 database. MGU project has quite a few examples mostly under Trigger Control application. This works, however the exporter is case sensitive and if Levels are named the same but using different case ("OFF" and "Off" for example), Toolkit considers these as different names and doesn't add suffix appropriately to make Level name unique in V2.

Correct They nearly all were, I have just spent 2 hours re labling the level tags!
Is there reference to this anywhere??

    Be warned !!!!
If you use the value field in the visual properties beware how you correct this as you probable entered this in the first place the way you wanted it to be displayed
I now have all my level tags different values throughout the Application
HINT . or , work well

Everything works OK now but please all beware

My origional files worked fine before the change to 3.2!!

So check your toolkit set up before upgrading a Colour Touch Screen

    Again thanks to
Colin Cadman who did all the donkey work
Brett Coppins who is still driving around AuZ trying to look at my files
    And of course Darren

    Back Up and Running
    :)

    THANKS

Wow, you really managed to find a whole lot of ways to break a project ;)

In PICED/HomeGate/S+ V3.2, there is a warning if you try to use tags longer than 20 characters in logic. Elsewhere it doesn't matter much.

The problem with adding level tags to Group Address 255 has been fixed and will be available in the next release.

The problems with the "/" character and the duplicate level tags are a result of the ToolKit being more flexible than the old V2 installation software. The consequences of this had not been realised, which is why there was nowhere for you to read about it. We will look into what can be done about this.
