    Hello TimB
Does the 5500CN2 have browser configuration or telnet available?

    Hi Daryl,
It has a simple status web page but no configuration, and no telnet interface. Unfortunately the need for automatic configuration was not considered during the original development.

The need for a telnet interface was submitted to our issue tracking database some time ago, its issue number is 0016661. I have just submitted the feature request for DHCP support, as issue number 0023312. Next time we are looking at updating the firmware in the CNIs these features will be considered for inclusion.

What's the 5500CN2? I don't recall seeing it mentioned elsewhere on the forum here. As far as I can tell it's not mentioned on the CIS website (which is still showing 5500CN as the ethernet interface).

It's the version of the CNI that comes with the Wiser.

The 5500CN2 is an update to and replacement for the old 5500CN. It is in the latest Trade Product Guide but not yet on the website. I asked the marketing department to update the CIS website earlier in the year but I will ask again.

Actually that's the 5100CN2. The 5500CN2 is the same thing in a DIN enclosure, and replaces the 5500CN.

I have both a 5100CN2 and a 5500CN on my network. I have no idea as to their differences in functionality but I'd like to find out. Hopefully the CIS website will be updated soon with supporting documentation.

The 5500CN is the old (DIN-rail) CNI that has been around for years, based on a Lantronix Ethernet-to-Serial converter. The 5500CN2 is an update and replacement for the 5500CN, also in DIN. The 5100CN2 is the same updated circuit as the 5500CN2 but in a desktop-style form factor, designed to accompany and included with the Wiser Home Controller (5200PG) but also available as a separate item.
