    Hi Everyone,

Just interested to know if anyone has been to the Clipsal Training course for the Automation controller?
I have been to nearly all the accredited Clipsal Training courses in regards to C bus and has helped me alot. They are charging $850 for a 1 day course which seems abit steep. But if the training content is great, I have no issues in paying the money.

Can anyone shed some light on the course?

    regards Matt

    G'day Matt,

    Short reply:-
    Yes, definitely worth it.

    Extended reply:-
Initially was a 2 day course but compressed to 1 day.
You definitely learn little "tricks of the trade" and the workbook provided is full of images, explanations providing an excellent guide to utilise during and after the training.
The trainer is excellent and very knowledgeable who also provided extra information on things not technically part of the course but relevant to the SHAC such as graphics and things.
In my opinion it is fairly fast paced where you need to be watching and listening all the time or else you may miss something or fall behind on the exercises.
We started at 8am and finished at approx 5:15pm (trainer and others were still there, but course had finished).
Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea all provided.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and 100% has helped me already.
Price is fairly high for a single day, but is a tax write off if you can claim it through your business.

    For the Sceptics:-
    No, I don't work for Schneider/Clipsal.
No, I have not received any financial / or other benefits for my comments.
Hadn't met the trainer before, so no....I am not pissing in his pocket.
Just offering my personal opinion and was glad to do the course.

    Cheers,
    Philip

    Hi Philip

i'am also looking at doing the training course near the end of the year,
but in regards to the training do you have to be certified to repair or add lights or switches to an existing c-bus system? and what course stages or course do you actually get the licence to install / commission them from clipsal?

Great! Enjoy. It's a lot to take in, be ready to practice after to lock it in.
Anyone can do it, that dosen't mean everyone can actually do it though.
There are no licences. They will give you ecoexpert accreditation if you do enough courses.
