    it kinda looks like a cut down version of C-Bus. There is a relay unit that uses a wall switch that is switching mains power which is used with a SILC junction box (a retrofit product) and a SILC master off on the SILC network (like a C-Bus switch)

    It looks like a system for a retrofit and not a new install - obviously it could be for a new install.

    It would have made more sense to me to make SILC just a C-Bus network and leverage the existing products within in this model.

    I know a bit about the SILC (Simple Intelligent Lighting Control)..

    It wont be to replace CBUS but instead fit into a market CBUS traditionally didn't fit.. The low end and renovation market..

    There are about 6 compenents at this stage..

    A Junction box, which connects to control devices into the silc network and power circuit, and also has a input for local switch control..
    A relay module, connects to the Junction Box and allows on/off control of the load..
    A dimming LED downlight, connects to the JB and allows dimming control of the led downlight, all intergrated so must use the clipsal downlight..
    A wifi gateway, connects to a junction box and the customers wifi network to allow wireless control of silc..
    A master off switch, wired directly to the silc comms cable allowing for a master off of all loads..
    And lastly a silc powersupply, which does as its name suggests, powers the silc system..

    Each control device, ie relay and downlights, has a selectable address on it upto about 30?ish devices, via a rotary dip switch style of thing..

    And thats it, the system will fire up from there.. No programming required..

    From their the consumer can use the app to name fittings and add fittings to groups etc.. They can also control each load individually.. Think dali style..

    So for example, living room with 4 of the silc downlights, all set to address '04'.. Switch on wall controls the 4 together and allows for on/off dimming.. From the app consumer can control the 4 together as group '04' or renamed 'Living Room', they can also drill into 'Living Room' group and control each fitting individually..

    As mentioned, no programming required.. Also last I heard there was no scheduler or scenes but scenes were coming in a later app update, so no switch control of scenes..
