I have been following the Clipsal stuff here in the US for some time. I know we already have a couple of certified installers in my area, so I have been just collecting information about the system while sitting on the fence and watching. Today I got around to checking out some of the prices and Wow it is expensive! While I was excited that the system could scale small to big, the prices on the keypads seemed off the charts? The four button saturn at $668.00, do you guys sell your systems at full retail prices? I guess I was hoping the keypads would come in under the Lutron Homeworks stuff as far as cost. Is the Clipsal stuff at the top of the market in your area in pricing or average?

    Sound about right?

Are you *still* having stock problems?

I thought that was all sorted out now.

Well, I got some pricing today on a saturn 4 button and 8x2amp dimmer and my costs are above the Aus. retail. Thanks for all the responses, it has been very hard for me to get Clipsal information here in the states.

Im certain that most of the price difference is accounted for by insurance and liability cover. Let's not forget about the legal system in the USA. You can win a court case falling over your own child in a retail store !

"A Texan woman was awarded $780,000 after she sued a furniture store. She sued because she tripped and fell over a child running amok in the store. Surprisingly, she won the case, even though the child was her own."

    Hey Guys,

I worked for one of the first installation here in the US. We installed a system for a local school that was rather large (8+CNI, 60+ relay modules, 60+ change over relay modules, 60+ NEO 4 button switches, 60+ occ sensors, 60+ multi sensors) unique application (daylight harvesting with lighting). All in all it was a good experience, the guys in TN (Jon, Kevin, Greg and the rest) were great ( even though from visiting this board I informed them of a couple of things;) ), and the system was easy to pickup. I do admit that the devices aren't the cheapest out there, but they are extremely versatile (that one NEO can do a lot - scenes, dimming, timer, up, down, IR sensor etc.).
All in all if you can afford it, install it!
