    Hi all,

It will be great help if anyone have homeminder software. also is there away to create program it without knowing the password.

I just moved to new house which has homeminder 5207A. The previous owner didn't use it before and didn't have password or manual. I called security system company and they say it is not supported anymore and the only way is to get new automation system :)

I want to start to use it to control the garden watering.

    Thank you,

    Hi KSU
Yep, you can re-establish contact with the unit even without a password!

I'll PM you in the next couple of days and tell you how to go about it (if I can remember... been a few years ;-)

    Hi KSU

Sorry, but my memory is clearly shot! You need the ini file from the unit, but you don't need the password to open it. You can retrieve the the project from the controller but only with a password. Sorry to mislead. I have not had to do this sort of thing for probably 12 years so I got it a bit wrong. If you only want to use the controller for something simple (like irrigation), then you might be better off to write a new program. The help file that comes with the software is pretty good.

Let me know what you need to do with the controller and I'll do what I can to help you.

BTW, for anyone who wants to chip in and say the product is crap, mine has been installed since 1999 and it just runs! No issues. The RTC on it is still within 10 seconds of the actual time despite not being changed for over 5 years. Very solid product

    Cheers

+1 and I am about to install one in a brand new house!

Must admit only reason I am not going something new is the house will be rented out for a year and I don't have the time to learn a new system, so am putting in an old faithful and might change it later on when I move in, or just keep it.

I have sent you an email with a link to download V4.0.4

Please let me know once you have downloaded it.

BTW you need to adjust your forum profile to allow the receipt of private messages.

    Some links

    Minder 3.02r

    Minder 4.04

I uploaded this to mediafire a simple thanks would be nice if you need more help let us know

You cannot really extract a project from minder
You will be asked when you install this to make a password that will be
The password for all .ini files you make
If you have an old ini file that you dont have password for make a new project with your install
You should know your password that you just made then using a text editor
Find passwords and copy lines over to the one you dont know and try it
Unless your system is at clients house you should probably just start from scratch anyway

Even though no one said thank you
I have just uploaded all versions of minder software I have
(cant test as they are 32bit)

but as I am feeling generous I have uploaded the product literature

and wait there is is more. I have made and uploaded the programming manuals as well all from around 2000 release date

feel free to thank me - :)

think of this like a time capsule that has just been opened. or software preservation.

however the jeeves software (thinkboxx) I am sure up to about v4.5
could be used in the minders aswell and if anyone has that as I dont.
i would appreciate the reciprocation of some links aswell.

    now for the internet magic
Brochures in case you want to sell your minder :)

Installation manuals for those parts you cannot buy

Programming manuals to train those who have not lived

    and know drum roll please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    those floppy disk images

    minder 2.21

    minder 3.02

    minder 3.08

minder 4.04 floppies (why use the above link but for preservation)

    the classic Minder MKI

now time to get back to the bar..

I have the thinkboxx software/firmware/documentation, however from v4.0.5 you need a license key that ties it to the controller.
Unfortunately these cant be purchased anymore.

BTW the software will run on 64bit Windows 10, it's just the installer that won't work.
You can install it into a 32 bit virtual machine then just copy the directory structure and it will work.

Was going to suggest virtual box
to be honest did not think people read these forums that much,

for the best experience i like windows 2000 as it usb support is better
and on modern machine running in virtual box it is stupid quick.

from memory the way tag databases were used it was better in OS's prior to XP
    stop some double handling

Thanks oracle, I have not checked back as someone emailed me 4.0.4.

All this extra stuff is gold though. Thanks.

Wondering if anybody has the thinkboxx 4.0.6 or 4.1.0 software/firmware, I know about 30 day limitation but am Interested in checking it out.

Even though the homeminder is old and cumbersome I still think it is a great bit of kit and still can be useful.

    Cheers.

The 30 day trial period was removed in the last couple of releases, and requires a key straight away to work.

Unfortunately you can't get the keys anymore.
