Circa 1.1 doesn't work with Toolkit. You need to use C-Bus Installation Software V2 and import/export to/from Toolkit.

Version 2 of Circa which does work with Toolkit it currently in public beta and available from http://www.cbusforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1828

    Ok,

Thanks, I figured the Export part, but was not quite sure I had to do the import.

When I did the Export, Toolkit mentioned there would be a few units not recognised in V2, which is fair enough.

But what happens to these units when I do a import of that project. ??

    I lose those units dont I ???

not to mention all the errors I had once I dont the import. I could not scan the network. I reverted back to my Pre-Export project.

Therefore, If I'm doing work on a commercial site, only use V2, do not upgrade them to toolkit ?? until Circa is out of Beta ??

However to test my programming, I can use the Beta Circa, and get it going on my local test network. ( which is all the latest software )

Then do I need to convert that back to the previous version of Circa, so it works with V2 ??

(PS: not a question for this thread, but is there any kind of online software/upgrad/updates in the works ... it's slowly becoming time consuming keeping all my C-Bus software components up to date ... ??)

Huge problems, after I import the CBUSV2 project.

I have to revert back to the archived version of the project, just to get my network back online ...

    Any suggestions ?

My recommendation is to to only ever export from Toolkit to V2 and not import when using it just fro Circa V1.1

Circa only needs the tag names!

Pre-create the desirted tagnames in Toolkit and export to V2 and then just add the IR commands to the pre-created Tags.

As required just re-export to V2 to upsate the tag database.

    Cool,

Thats all I thought I needed to do.

But cant seem to get my IR to come out of the selected channel. The amber light flashes every time there is C-Bus activity, but it's suppose to flash a bright amber when it is sending IR.

My tags are in the Enable application, does that make any diff?

This may sound like a stupid question. But what C-bus function is best to assign to a tag that is linked to an IR code. I've tried "Bell Press" , "On/Off" maybe the C-bus setup side of things is giving me the problems ... ??

    Can't use the Enable App

    Ok its working ok,

Seems the Enable App is not a good place to create my tags and my foxtel codes are a problem.

I setup control for my DVD player and it works fine.
    1. Create the Tags - in Lighting App, NOT!!! in the Enable App
    2. Export to CBUSV2
    3. Drop my IR codes onto the Tags
    4. Program my Key inputs as "Bell Press" to level 100%, assoc with correct Group Address.

    Works fine.

However, my foxtel IQ box, does not. I get the emitter flashing, the NIRT flashing as it should. But no response on my Foxtel IQ Box.

Is there a known problem with the Foxtel IR codes? either from the Database, or when learnt.

    Cheers

If you are referring to a Digital Foxtel box contact Tech Training and Support. They have been provided with a solution.

If you contact Training & Technical Support they will email you a Circa IR library file that contains Foxtel Digital IR codes that have been tested and are working on numerous sites.

    Yep,

Done just that. I have the new codes, have not tested them yet but will do. If the seniors don't mind, I might upload the codes to this site, if that is allowed.

As it took me an afternoon, to figure out my Foxtel codes suck. Maybe we should announce they are available for download. Maybe create a sticky for them.

    Cheers.

CIS actually emailed me recently to say the codes were available !

I must be registered with them somehow, as I get other info too (like today with advice that Simon Gerard is being replaced by Erik Scholtz)

Richo sends reminder to self to add the foxtel codes to the Circa library so they are just there when you need them.
