I just installed CGate on raspberry pi following these instructions.
    http://addictedtopi.tumblr.com/post/96351714013/installing-c-gate-on-a-raspberry-pi

The CGate version has changed and as of last week the link does not work.
So the new link for CGate zip is http://203.41.170.20/downloads/CGate/cgate-2.11.0_3233.zip

Actually that is newer than the one I installed yesterday.
Who says CIS is not keeping things up to date :)

I was going to ask if the older version of CGate zip would cause any problems with new versions of Toolkit but it seems that should not be an issue now according to the CGate / Toolkit compatibility matrix.

    Thanks CIS.

    One other thing.
On the older versions of CGate zip I could not backup my project on the remote CGate with Toolkit.
Is that going to work now or is there some settings in CGate I need to change?
Looks like I am doing another raspberry pi rebuild to try the latest CGate.

There is heaps of things I could have done wrong but CGate on pi has been a bit sluggish with Homebridge on my phone when I move in and out of the wifi network.
Is the hardware up to the job?
Any thoughts? actually I think it is a homekit thing

    Thanks
    Daryl

CGate 2.11.0 seems to be running nice on raspberry pi 3

Still not able to backup a project with Toolkit running on remote CGate running on raspberrypi3.
    It crashes Toolkit.

I have some questions how to set up a project on raspberry pi3 running cgate.

At the moment I can use Toolkit to set up a remote project and get all the info transferred to cgate on raspberry pi.
What I would like to be able to do is use cgate commands to do the same job.
If anyone could help show me how to do this would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Daryl

Is there a way to do an upgrade of C-Gate on a Pi or do I just re-install the new version over the top of the old one?

I just got three Pi3's so I can turn on C-Gate again for the Pi (used for another project currently)

    Hello Mick
    I can't say but I did a fresh install.
Did you see it was updated for Java8

Just tried from scratch using Toolkit to set up my CGate project and looked at the CGate log on PI.

I think it is too hard for me to use telnet to send the commands Toolkit does to set up the CGate project on raspberry pi.

    Toolkit looks much easier.
