I tripped the power on house and now the cbus system does not work properly. Does not respond to switch activation and the lights that were on at time of trip stayed on and could not be turned off. We reset the system, tried resetting the whole main switchboard to no avail. Some switches work others don’t. Now the lights randomly turn on and off by themselves at any given time for a couple of seconds and then off. . All hours of the night to the point where I have to turn the breakers off in the main switch board in shed. No electrician knows how to fix it we are remote Pilbara WA. Any suggestions??? Desperate !

When you say you tripped the power in the house can you describe a bit more eg did a tree drop through the roof or did you flood the place?
Something to check first is that all the circuit breakers are in the on position.
There may well be some breakers for CBus control which you overlooked and this can drop the CBus voltage to a level which brings down the network.
The CBus units have LED indicators for basic diagnostics.
Post some pictures of all the CBus units in the switchboards if you like.
If you have Touchscreens or Wiser controller unplug to try rule out a problem with them.

This is an important point. Often Cbus installations have sub-boards with output units and these generally have their own breaker. First thing to do is check the Cbus voltage. You can do this most easily by removing any switch and placing a multimeter on its DC range across the 2 terminals. If the reading is less than 20 volts you either have missed a breaker (very likely), have killed a power supply (possible), or another unit on the network is pulling the voltage low (rarely).

I plugged in a faulty extension board to an outside gpo. The attached photo shows two bottom Right corner cbus 2 lights are orange ???
Whilst standing in front of the switchboard you can hear it clicking as if being activated.
And the cbus led indicators are flicking on and off sometimes staying on for a bit .

Orange leds on the Cbus interface (bottom right) are normal. The Cbus leds flicker whenever there is cbus activity, so that means it is communicating. I can't see any green leds on the left side second row dimmer. Is that just the photo? Clicking can only be relays on the top 2 relay modules, and if the relays are switching you should see the channel leds change. first thing is to test the cbus voltage. Easiest on the back of a switch a mentioned above.

Sine you have a Cbus interface, if you have a /Window PC handy with a serial (RS232) port, or a USB to serial adapter, you could download the cbus diagnostic utility (it's free), or the programming software (toolkit, also free) and see whats going on. The diagnostic utility is the easiest. It will list all the units it finds and their voltages, and show you all activity.
