Best idea is to remove the existing wires, screw a spare piece of wire into one terminal, screw down the other terminal, then just touch the wire on that terminal. If you are in learn mode the light should toggle each time you touch the wire on the connector.

Absolutely dead. No leds lighting up and no activation of the channel when out of learning mode.

No where else to go on this one, me thinks.

Did you ever check for voltage on the terminals. That will tell you for certain if there is power there of not. If not then the signs are indicating that the Aux input has expired

Is there always a current running on the terminals. I think I only checked the GSM unit.

With nothing connected you should read around 5 volts between the a and b terminals of each input.

If you get no voltage, it is worth checking the pins on the units RJ45 cbus connections. It looks like your gear is in an outdoor enclosure and the pins can tarnish after some time in less than ideal conditions.

    Hi Ashley.

You are probably right as this unit was fitted upside down to accommodate the relay connections.

I take it there is no way of cleaning connection. I have tried znelbok suggestion of unseating the connections to clean the contacts.

    Any other suggestions.

    Thanks

On another note from early in this thread about the interface, you mentioned wiser. Does it require a separate network interface? Is there a difference between wiser and wiser1

Think wiser might be an option for both the interface and aux input issue, but could be way over my head in terms of installation, but I like a challenge. Haha

    Thanks

Carefully with very fine emery paper.

Wiser and wiser 1 are the same devices. This was replaced by the Wiser 2 which was replaced with the NAC.

Wiser 1 had a single CNI (network interface) which could also be used to program the network, however during programming Wiser functionality was disabled. This wasn't really an issue if you just wanted to use the interface for programming. Wiser 2 had dual CNI's. One was dedicated to the Wiser and the other a general purpose CNI. The NAC also has 2 CNI's but it's hard to recommend at the moment as it is extremely buggy.

The Wiser has no general input capability so it can't replace the Aux Input unit. You could use the simpler Bus Coupler assuming the GSM unit had isolated relay outputs and mounted it close to the GSM unit.

    Hi Ashley

Was think that instead of you using the GSM to control the gate and Cbus integration, I could just use wiser and access over the web. Is this possible.

    Thanks

I'd take the Aux input off and go plug it in elsewhere to make sure. Its unlikely that the relay is not passing the power through the connectors but you never know.

You could also put the Aux before the relay to check this theory out as well (i.e. two C-Bus connections in the aux input and then one in the relay). Depending on the result will tell you what/where the problem is.

Yes, using a wiser over the web would be a solution. You need to have internet access whereas the GSM only needs GSM network connectivity - a decision you can make based on how reliable it all is for you (I had both due to poor/slow satellite internet)

    Hi Nick

So in option 1 just connect the same why on anotjer channel relay (i.e. one in the house) and then check for voltage via the terminals.

Not sure what you mean in the second scenerio. A quick sketch would be good.

    Thanks

    Aux is dead. Moving on.

Next is an interface to tweek the names on my DLT panels and light setup.

Thanks again for all your help and suggestions. I am sure I will have more questions.
