    Hey everyone,

It has been a very long time since I worked on this project, however, a new building renovation means my electrician has done a heap of new work and now I need to revisit all my NAC scene setup and programming which I wasn't qualified to do anyway...... so sorry in advance to my ignorance in many aspects.

    Issues.
Since the upgrade and addition of new buildings across our bridged network I am running into issues with sense triggering but the status not updating. I can run them once but it then won't turn off for example. I found it I manually adjusted the "Set Value" I could then run the trigger for the scene again. Not sure why this is the case.

Whilst trying to troubleshoot I have noticed inconsistencies in the objects and my configuration i.e. with bridges should I see all the "Triggers" in all the Network Groups? For example, if my main network is 254 or default = 0 triggers are as follows:
    • 0 / 202 / 0 ..... Welcome XYZ
    • 251 / 202 / 0 ..... Welcome XYZ
    • 252 / 202 / 0 ..... Welcome XYZ
    • 253 / 202 / 0 ..... Welcome XYZ
I notice that in some cases each trigger exists in each network but in others, it can be missing for example:
    • 0/202/8 exists but is missing in 251/202/8, 252/202/8 & 253/202/8

Should each of these have Visual Parameters set?
When placing objects on my plans should I use the default 0 network or the local 251,252 or 253 network trigger?

    What am I missing here?
Should I import/export CGL files from toolkit or the NAC?

I'm quite lost, everything was working fine before the changes, and not sure where to start.

    any guidance would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Anthony

You need to describe the network topology. How many brideges and how are they wired up. i.e. do they all just hang of the local network or do you have multiple depths. Also, are the brides set up in application connect mode where all groups are shared across networks, or are the networks independant and just happen to share groups?

So that layout makes things simple. You still need to determine if all the bridges are in application connect mode. Can you open them in Toolkit and check? If it's in application connect mode it should look like this with "Send to adjacent network" chacked, and "All applications". This needs to be checked on both sides of the bridge.

Yes, this is correct all 3 networks "All Applications" & "Send to adjacent network" is ticked.

Now that you have confirmed all application sharing is enabled across the networks. In the automation Controller, from a objects proposal you need only define Objects on your local network.

as all C-Bus messages on all the General Applications, Including Trigger and Enable, when sent to the local network, will also appear on the remote networks, and vice versa if a message originated from the remote network, it will be visible to the local network and thus update on Controller,

BY having the bridges in Application Connected for all Networks from the point of view of the NAC you have flattened the Network and it means that each group on each application is common function across all networks,

It can be Quite confusing to look at objects states across networks, as controlling from visualization on the controller. 251/202/0 Group will send the command specifically to that network and the event will not show up on other networks,

Whereas when the NAC receives the command for 251/202/0 it will update the value for */202/0 Objects (* meaning all networks with objects on application 202 at Group 0.

SO it is simpler to only define the local network to the controller, with all applications and Groups.

Please Note this is a lot easier to manage with controllers using firmware 1.15.0 or later and the new SpaceLogic C-Bus Commission v2 software (SLCC). as this software will allow you to define the objects you want in the controller (In this case for the local network) and separates Object definition from the C-Bus Network Tag Map,

To see this feature, Please add the Controller to your project from the library (do not add it from live network), this will give you a view of the controller as 3parts in the software (selecting the top level of the controller will allow you define properties of the controller including the Object List)

You can also Retrieve you C-Bus Tag map and Object list from existing controller,
Before Modifying the Object list, and Transferring back, However please note at this time the software will not delete unwanted networks, tag maps and objects from transfer, so cleaning up you project at both sides is a manual process. (delete unwanted objects from controller, and Unwanted Networks and Tag maps from the controller, and then Retrieve. (Backup your controller project before you start just in case you make a mistake)
