Hello, I have some strange cbus behaviour on a dimmer circuit which I could do with some advice on please.

Dimmer unit supports 8 circuits, all circuits except one are fine. The One circuit that is problematic results in the lights remaining switched on.

When one of the programmed switch buttons is pressed there is a small change in the brightness of the light. previously to the issue the light circuit would switch off or dim dependimg om the sort of press. all other circuits off the 8 channel dimmer work fine.

What is more peculiar, is when I press and hold one of the cbus unit buttons to program manually a command all of the lights in the house switch off except the circuit which is problematic these lights remain on.

    any ideas?

    Regards
    giuseppe

Has the circuit in question had a change in light fitting eg. non-dimmable LED or other non dimmable lamp
some LED lamp loads do not meet the load requirements of the dimmer to turn off, Clipsal do a Load correction device 31LCDA look this up for more information

It could be an incompatible load or it could be damage to that channel of the dimmer.

As has already been asked.. what kind of lamp is on this circuit? Has it changed recently?

Have there been any electrial "incidents" recently? eg a power outages or surges? A lamp failure? Generally these dimmers are fairly robust but the're not indestructible!

Which button are you referring to? If you are pressing and holding the button on the dimmer itself for 10s or more the unit will enter "learn mode" (the Unit and C-Bus indicators on the left will flash alternately), in which case all of the other channels would switch off.
