    Hey all,
I am VERY new to CBUS, having completed the basic course. I have installed the gear before but not programmed.
I am trying to logon to a CBUS network installed in 2006. I am using CBUS Toolkit Version 1.15.7.
I connect up to the programmer with the correct cable and then scan for CBUS networks by clicking on the "Find CBUS Networks" button and then scan all, but cannot locate anything.
I have tried using "Scan Default Interface", "Scan Coms Port" and also "Scan CBUS Network Interfaces" with no luck.

Any ideas? Do I need to use an older version of Toolkit?

I am trying to connect via USB. Cable is a Clipsal USB to RJ45, which goes into the programming port at the main wall control panel in the house.

    OK
PC USB to Black and White touchscreen.
CBus Toolkit has a USB driver which should be added when you installed CBus Toolkit.
When you plug the PC into the Touchscreen look in the PC device manager settings under ports.
Here you should he able to identify the Clipsal serial interface port number.
If it's not there you will have to figure out why before proceeding.

When you are selecting an interface to connect in Toolkit select serial.
Here you should be able to see the serial port you identified earlier.
Select that one and scan network

Ok, so after a few hours in front of the PC and trying to sort this out, I am still no better off. I have tried everything that I know of and also enlisted the assistance of a network guru, and no luck.

Does it make a difference that I am using the most recent version of Toolkit and the Cbus network is a 2006 model? Will they be able to actually talk to each other?

I am trying to get hold of a CBUS person in my area, that may be able to assist.

I just noticed you said you are trying to connect with a USB to RJ45 cable?
Best get the actual model number off the unit or post some pictures here if you are going to continue.

There is no Clipsal made RJ45<>USB cable for CBUS that I have ever heard of.

These cables are made but are usually used by specialist applications for Astronomy telescopes and similar, having special pinouts and wholly unsuited to CBUS.
