I know this has a risk of starting one of those long opinionated threads ...

But, has anyone got C-Gate running in Ubuntu recently?

Ive tried following the notes of a few others on here, but without knowing lots about the various versions of the JRE, their installation and config details, etc I'm flying blind into a snow storm!

    Hi MadMal,

This is probably the most useful historical thread: http://www.cbusforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118

You'll find my own steps under Ubuntu in Note #17 there.

Couple of notes for the present day:

    - The "patch" mentioned for Toolkit 1.4 should no longer be needed
    - The two network "license limit" is now removed, ie. unlimited networks
    - You can probably skip the command-line JRE installation as I'm sure the Ubuntu repository now has one that's sufficiently up to date.

Could you give more detail about where you are getting stuck?

Thanks Daniel - yes that is about the only reference I could find and found that things have changed quite a bit since 2004 :(

Current state I am in is I have installed JRE and RXTXCommDriver ... but when I do a port list the sky starts to fall!

I have included two text files - one with the crash dump and one with the general environment details (ie JVM version, immediate crash output, system version, etc) ..

Not sure if it makes any sense to you or not?

I'm joining the growing list of people trying to talk to a PCI via cgate on Linux without success....

Has anyone got this to work with current versions of Java/Linux/etc?
