Well, maybe I was too agresive. As a matter of fact when this tread started, I wanted to remind you about the coolmaster
    http://www.cbusforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4007&highlight=coolmaster

However, I couldn't access their site from my jobs network - I still can't.

However I have to admit that when I emailed to them (it was Sunday afternoon) they call back after 15 minutes.

As I understand, DBACS solution is ready to use with usual PC interface, and Coolmaster solution needs PAC and self-made rs232 logic programming?

Yes nickrusanov you are absolutely right. coolmaster has to connect to a serial port and you have to do your own logic.

I just completed a project. When the project first started we had to exclude ac simply because of the complexity of ac integration. However after seeing all the posts here I decided to do some research.

Coolmaster is a great solution, but you need to have access to a serial port and have to parse RS232 messages on your own and somehow display that information on cbus gear.

This is one of the reasons why I decided to go with the other solution. But the deciding factor was the Daikin warranty issue. I read this thread and other similar ones on the web. Coolmaster connects directly to ac system (something they call f1 f2 terminal). I have found that this voids the Daikin Warranty.

I found the documentation of the DBACS Solution pretty descriptive. But I found the following to be confusing.

    1) Temperature up/down controlling. Manual says send a group address on command. But when you program buttons you need to make the button type a bell press. If not it won?t send on commands, if the group address is already on.

    2) They change a group address level to change the ac function (cool, heat etc). But you need to be make sure what states in the manual is the actual level. Not a percentage. Cool is level 1 and this is not 1%. Heat is level 2 etc. etc.

Anyway everything worked out smoothly. send me a message if you need to have a look at my piced file.
