C-Bus licence dongle for Homegate

    Just curious about these, never had to use one of these but would like to know how/were why it is used.

    Homegate isn't free software. You can download and install it but it will only run in demonstration mode. You need the dongle unlock it.

    That helps to understand what it's for thanks. Does that mean i can run a copy of homegate on a pc/tablet and what O/S's does it support. Can i then use Piced to create projects the same as for the 5080CTC series.

    Sorry for all the questions, just trying to expand my knowledge of the c-bus world past the colour touch screens.

    Homegate is basically the same software that runs in the colour touchscreen. It only runs on windows. You create the projects entirely within Homegate, which has an identical interface to PICED (It's the same code base). You can load colour ctouch project into Homegate.
