    Hi every body

    i have c-bus installation with 2 networks ( i use bridge )

    inshort

i have a relay belong to Network No.1, the first channel CH No.1 controled by group No.1 ( spot lights ) which i created in lighting application under networkNo.1

in network No.2 i have a 1 gang switch and i want to control
CH No.1 of the relay No.1 with the same switch which belong to network No.2
how can i do it ??

    thanks in advance

In the bridge configuration, make sure you have the box ticked to pass all messages to the adjacent network.

Then on network 2 create a group at the same group address as that of the group you want to control on network one and then assign it to your switch.

The problem now is that both networks are acting as one large C-Bus network, so if you currently have say Group 4 configure on network 1 for set of down lights and on network 2, group 4 is configured for a spot light, both will come on when either network turns on that group. You will have to assign unique groups to the whole larger network.

    Hope that make sense

    Thanks for your support

I have another Question regarding the same installation

After doing the installation for all items (2 networks using 1 bridge)
I just connected my laptop and tried to scan the networks, actually Toolkit software was able to discover some devices around 50 devices in network
No.1 (it has 83 devices) and around 60 devices in network
    No.2 (it has 75 devices)

The problem is Toolkit not able to discover all the connected devices

Can you please explain the steps which I have to follow to troubleshoot this installation?

    hi

    dear friend..

i also faced the same problem at one of my sites..that we cant scan more than 60-65 units in network A ...and same problem comes when we scan network B..

i too asked clipsal this before...i didnt got any reply:mad:...

but i have a solution for this:)..

You have to re-design your network..i mean u got a network bridge having two ethernet ports for each networks...right? so u break Network A into two loops...and connect two loop cables at one side of network bridge..and do the same for Network B...that means now you have four cables at network bridge..and its 100% sure that you will get all modules when you scan if your termination and cabling is right..

    try it:)...

thank you very much for your support and Cooperation

actually your solution requires restructure the cabling and you know it's a bit difficult to do it now

my friend i am trying to connect the devices gradually 5....6 devices after discovering the same then adding more 5..6 devices and so on ) I know it will take time.

i will keep updating you and every body, hope this will be useful for me and others.

    Hi

    Hi every body

sorry to be late, but actually just today i came back from the site
( no internet connection no mobile coverage there!! ) any way finally i got all items connected and communiucating to each other perfectly.
as i explained before i have added the devices gradually and i cheaked the burden ( activated 1 only )
but still not getting any response from some devices (15 items ) ( very far ones )
her and befor getting mad i tryied to put one power supply in between and this solved the problem
i think the problem was Insufficient voltage at long distances

finally the consultant signed and i came back home :)

    thanks all

    Thanks, mh4 !

We do recommend distributing the power supplies along the bus. Putting all power supplies at one end or the other can lead to problems.
