    Hi Guys,

Today I fired up my first C Bus installation. Just two small problems, both on DLT's.

1 One of the DLT's has a blank screen. I can program it to turn things on and off, but nothing appears on the screen. The back light works though!

2 On another DLT, the buttons don't respond.

If you have any ideas, I'd be grateful. Everything else on the system seems ok.

That's disappointing. If the backlight comes on (in both), and you can program them with Toolkit, then that suggest they are functional as far as bus communication goes. That then suggest that something else is messed up, perhaps during manufacture / assembly.

I suggest you contact your sales rep to discuss what to do.

    sorted!

After talking to technical, and then going back out to the installation and having another play.....

The programming problem was that two items with the same serial number were in the database. I didn't think this was possible, and obviously toolkit didn't either! It seemed to be caused by manually entering stuff in the database, and then importing stuff from the network, and there you go, two DLT's with the same serial with different addresses. Delete, delete, and reimport seemed to solve it.

The blank display was caused by a ribbon cable inside the unit not connecting correctly. Disassemble, rebuild, solved. Not good though.

But it all appears to be working now.

I'm glad its sorted out, agree that it is not good enough. If you see this happen again, please report it to your sales channel. If there are manufacture quality problems, they need to be fixed.

Yes, we pay a premium price for what it put forward as a premium product. But sh1t happens, and the NZ rep sorted me out with no bother all. He was very glad to have the feedback.:)
