baffled

New C-bus system (domestic) trying to get access to network by serial to RJ45 connection (which goes straight into the PC interface) ie: PCI is in garage, and I am trying to get acces from the loungeroom. This connection has worked in the past. The project was originally named project 1, and has now been renamed to say project 2. The only way I can get access to the network is from directly into the PCI, when I scan network it picks up that the project was created with a different name, and prompts me to selct from my current list which project it should open.
Question. Why can't I just rename projects as required, to a more suitable name than what was originally issued.
Question: Why won't it prompt me requesting the information that it requires when I directly go to the PCI as when I use my dedicated point (Hardware burden is installed in PCI and software burden at PCI and addressed to 001)

 

I use the same personal PCI in many projects and there is no problem. I also have different "projects" file for the same site as time-frame backup. There will not be problem regarding the "names".

Just don't use the "scan network" in the very beginning. It is a short cut to me if I forgot what 'project" I am standing on. Pick the right project, even create a new one from the left tree and click its network, and click "open network" in the right instead. Re-editing project/network names will be allowed any time when you can find the relavant tab. (some) Information will be stored in your unit at that point.

In future do you strongly reccommend that opening all projects by using the steps you suggested (DON"T use F2 as a short cut to scan networks) I am now able to gain access to the network consistantly using your steps.
Query: using software 1.7.1 never had this problem
using software 1.7.2 aren't able to use shortcut
Anyone else experiencing the same?
