I recall a while ago hearing something about Clipsal developing a cBus based zone control system for ducted air con- does anyone know if it's real & if so, when it might be released?

It is real, it is in development. But for products in development we don't give release dates until it has passed most internal testing. This development has not got that far yet.

Is this to connect to a specific heater/AC unit? eg I have Brivis ducted heating/AC with the networker controler and would like to eventually integrate it.

Out-of-the-box the unit will support evaporative systems.

It has 5 relays in the default configuration and provided they can be wired up to your a/c plant in some useful manner you should be OK.

Seeing as there are no standards for a/c control, it goes without saying that the unit will not be able to control everything on the planet, though that is our long-term aim. This will be done by designing and releasing a series of back-end "plant controllers" as the different equipment is understood, defined, and as a market need pops up.

Sorry - not a very conclusive answer. See if you can find out a bit more about how your unit is wired up (or get a reference to a data sheet, or something), and a better answer might be available.
