If I give you remote access are you able to program my system? I just need someone to do some logic to interface with a Hive smart heating controller.

If so, I could do with some hardware that has a logic engine built in. The software license seems stupidly expensive.

 

I can't help with the programming, try a post in the general section for that.

JEA Technologies does sell refurbished CTC1 touchscreens, that's our cheapest model at $1,000 plus delivery and any import duty. You can also try ebay for some older B/W controllers maybe around $500

Yes they can, but Pascal is also the name of the programming language that's used to do the programming.

Writing code to interface to a Hive thermostat would be a major undertaking. As far as I am aware, they don't even publish the api. Your only real option if you want to control Hive with Cbus would be to use Home Assistant as someone has already done the hard work for you. It's probably the cheapest solution too.

 

I've been trying to get it to work with Homebridge but everything I try falls slightly short of what I need.

This is why you never use cloud based products. If you can't connect directly to it via your home network, just forget it. Home Assistant generally directly connects to devices via the local network. Unfortunately most manufacturers don't publish their apis because they want to lock you in to their system. Home Assistant developers spend a lot of time reverse engineering products to bypass the cloud so they have done the hard work for you. While Home Assistant is far from perfect, I think it's currently the least worst option. Disclaimer though, I don't use Apple so I have never used Homekit or Homebridge.

 

Yep. That's why I've spent about £6k on C-bus.

I don't do Apple either. So I have Homebridge running with a plugin that connects to C-gate and brings C-bus into Homekit, and then another plugin that brings Homekit into Google Home.

It all works surprisingly well.

Also, I've bought a 5070THPPG, so the Hive kit is coming out shortly.

Just hoping the C-bus thermostat can do what I need i.e. set the temperature from any of the eDLT panels throughout the house.

 

The eDLT supports the 5070 so that should all work fine.
