    Hi Guys

recently updated my laptop came with windows 8. Having some issues with being able to connect a network. I have tried disabling the windows 8 firewalls completely but still no go.:(

    Error code: 45142
C-gate was unable to send a command to a network: a response was not removed within the expected time frame. Please ensure that all networks and all cables are plugged in correctly.

using rs232 to usb adaptor, loaded drivers etc still no success.

    anyone else having any issues?

    thanks guys

Hi Josh, the software doesn't officially support Windows 8 at this time, but if you contact Technical Support I'm sure they would do their very best to help you out.

Windows 8 *blocks* unsigned drivers. Here's a fix!

    Hi All,

I found I wasn't able to get Toolkit & PICED to work on my Windows 8 machine.

For me the issue was related to the USB driver for my PACA. I told it to install (and ticked to force the driver re-install in subsequent install attempts) but it never happened (and the process ended too quickly for comfort).

It seems that Microsoft has DISABLED the use of unsigned drivers in Windows 8, but no failure pops during the installation process.

The fix is to reboot Windows 8 into what looks remarkably like 'safe mode', and tell it to 'disable driver signature enforcement'.

    Here's the process I followed:

My PACA is fine now... :D
