As a work around, can I use the logic to detect the Sub Page is pop upped and start a timer that goes back to the pop down mode ??

Our installer asks if it is normal:

AMX with C-Bus works using Open Protocols and 5500PC. But when power down occurs, it does not restore the connection. What helps - is to open PC interface using C-Bus Toolkit and after that connect to AMX again.

Anything could be done here?
thank you

I just installed a C-bus thermostat without relays, more for playing with wiser and less for a necessity.
I have a 8ch Relay unit that is used just for controlling water heater (1 ch the recirculation pump, 1ch the boiler and 1 ch the auxiliary electric heating element), and I thought that it would be nice to use it for the thermostat too.
However, I have to change the application from lighting to hvac.

1. If I do that, is there a way to control these 3 channels from my NEO units since they will be in different application, or I will control them only by my MARK I touch screen ?

2. I tried unsuccessfully to add a climate widget on the wiser just for viewing the room temperature. Is this because I haven't related my thermostat το a relay channel or I should try harder?

Looks like 1 is very old stock. this one has the old back small terminals
The relay driver side the holes are lined up with the terminals but on the relay side the terminals seem a little high. (see picture attached)
The other problem is I hate these old terminals and very hard to get 4mm cable in these as this is a 20A circuit.

1) I assume this still comes with full warrany.
2) I know this is just a relay but 8 years old stock seem too old to be selling.

Can I return to distribution to get a newer model ? with the better terminals or do I have to do this via clipsal.
My problems is:
Its about the demand, so if you wish this feature was available add a post :)

We have a residential installation with 4 CTCs and several Mark IIs which each have Thermostat controls for 6 single-zone Thermostats. The CTCs each have 6 different pages with controls for one zone per page. The MIIs have only one zone of temp control each. There are 4 networks in the project, with Touch Screens and Thermostats residing on only 2 of the networks. (all thermostats on 254, along with a couple touch screens and the rest of the touch screens on 253)

The issue we're having is the temperature updates are intermittently not going to other touch screens if there is a set-point change. This seems to be true regardless of whether the messages are crossing the bridge or not. For example, two touch screens on the same network - both can control HVAC Zone 1. Touch screen 1's set-point is changed from 80 degrees to 78 degrees. Touch screen 2 still says the zone's set-point is 80 degrees. When the temperature in the space actually changes to 78, the originating touch screen will show accurate current temp, but other touch screens may still be showing the original 80 deg. set-point and 80 deg. temp.

This seems to be random, in that it doesn't happen all the time and may or may not happen on more than one touch screen (i.e. some may update correctly, while others do not).

Any thoughts on what may keep the HVAC messages from updating Touch Screens?

Hello there,
I have done the c-bus basic training etc and got the certificate.
I will probably have 2 C-Bus cabinets - one on the groung floor and one on the first floor. Each cab will have 2 din rails, one for dimmers and one for relays.
I plan to split the power to these two cabinets over 2 circuits from the meter box and was going to run 2.5M twin and earth to power each cabinet protected by a 20amp breaker at the meter box and label the MCBs - C-bus,1 and C-bus,2. I was then planning to install a combination MCB/ELCB at the C-bus cabs to protect each din rail ie one for the dimmers and one for the relays.
These would be 10amp each.
I woukld then run all power circuits to each light using 1.5M T&E.
Can anyone (experienced) tell me if this is compliant and/or a better method?
Thanks

I currently have Toolkit running on a dedicated PC connected to the C-Bus network via a serial interface, but the old PC is only used for configuring the network and is proving to be an unreliable piece of junk.

I'm contemplating replacing the C-Bus serial interface with an ethernet interface (5500) and running Toolkit in a VMware virtual machine on one of the Macs. The VMware VM can see everything on the LAN, so there don't appear to be any LAN issues that would prevent me from seeing the ethernet interface.

Does anyone have any experience in doing this? Any advice and guidance gratefully received.

Hi all,

I'm trying to get CBUS up and running from linux. So far this post has been very helpful:

http://www.cbusforums.com/forums/sho...ighlight=linux

I have a few additional questions I'd like to toss out to the group here.

The first step was to get my unit addresses set, since they all come from the factory set to $FF. It seems like the only way to do this is via the windows-based CBUS Toolkit software. I've been looking for a simpler, non-GUI way to do this, but I haven't found one yet.

I did get C-Gate running on linux, and the toolkit seems to use C-Gate for communication, so that leads one to believe that there should be a way to set unit addresses directly from C-Gate. The docs don't give any clue as to how that would be done, though, so any help there would be appreciated.

The first device I set up was a 4-channel relay, which leads me to my next question: Is there no way to access the terminals directly, without first assigning each one to a group? Group assignment is another manual step in the CBUS Toolkit that I'd rather avoid. I'm hoping to find a way to do that either through C-Gate or directly through the serial protocol if possible.

So after going ahead and using the toolkit to set up the groups for the relay, I'm now to the point where I can open a socket connection to the CNI and send simple commands like this:

\\0538007900\r

...to turn on Group 0, which turns on relay 1. So far so good.

The next step is to be able to retrieve the state of the relay terminals. There doesn't seem to be a way to query the state of a group, and that probably doesn't make any sense anyway since a group could reference any number of switches that may be in different states. But is there a way to query the relay unit directly to get the terminal state? This is where I'm stuck at the moment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading.

- Jason
