jus twonder is there is a compadebility list of barcode scanners i can get before i go and by one,

hehehe... that's the funniest thing i heard... just get yourself any barcode scanner pick them up from jaycar or radio parts or even dicksmith under $250...

barcode scanners is just another input device, like you mouse/keyboard...

Err, not sure why its funny..

There's barcode scanners and then theres barcode scanners.. some are woefully inadequate at scanning and require constant retries to get successful scans, by all means try a cheap one and we'll certainly be pleased for you if you're happy with it.

i'm with duncan guys... from my experience in the printing industry the one my client gave me initially was a cheap and nasty. Then when i took the laptop and a dimmer unit in we tried a few and one of the middle of the range units scans first time every time.
