Hi,

Just an idea for the forums...

As I try not to "RTFM" as much as possible it would be useful if there was a single repository I could refer to for practical examples to common tasks i.e. "Maintain abient light using the PERL light sensor", "Turn off all lights on one switch", "Increase / Decrease PC volume using Neos" etc

Maybe a sticky only "How To's" forum with user contributions by submission to the moderators to edit would help the items be at a consistent level?

Any comments from any other end users?

Great idea as long as it is predominently done by the installers rather than Designers or Tech Support staff.

The installers have a much wider experience of what is actually required when C-bus products collide with Customer requirements.

CIS staff know what the product does (features) but the installers should be the ones that can say how they program the unit(s) to meet the squillions of permutations of customer requirements and product capeabilities (benifits).

Fact is always stranger than fiction and I am sure that installers use the C-bus range for way more than the designers ever would (or could) dream of.

A few short weeks after Santa comes new hardware and software will be available from CIS that incorporates Logic Engine processing. This feature is based on an extended implementation of the Pascal programming language. As this represents real computer programming it presents the opportunity to compare scripts on a forum like this. The up side is, checking out a number of ways to achieve a certain function. The down side is, possibly using a dodgey script and destabilising your base C-Bus system.

If enough guys and girls start sharing / comparing good quality scripts (will be known as "modules") a new section of the forum might be born ? ? ? ?
