View Full Version : IP56 weather proof SENLL (light level sensor)
I have asked this before , but not on the forum.
CIS manufacture as a "SPECIAL" an IP56 rated version of the 5031PE.
"Special" typically means that it is manufactured only to current backorders, and no stock is held of the product.
The product has been available for a number of years ( 2-3 ), and has been mentioned twice in various CIS Newsletters ( available from CIS Website).
It's newly revised catalogue number is 5031PEWP,GY
My question is;
" Would you buy a 5031PEWP,GY if it was released as a normal stock line??"

in its current form the cbus pe is ok for dimming lights but not 100% suitable for being a sun set switch like the 31vsst. it needs a timer function. if you put one outside now it will turn the light on at dark but leave them on till morning unless you have some other time based off command - from a clock unit or touch screen etc. have done this in the past but would prefer it all in the one package. please - it is christmas :D
Considering that this page lists 125 views of it and only 12 approx people bothered to vote on it, i must say that i am surprised in the effort spent reading the page, and the lack of effort spent answering the poll.
Next time i am asked to "push" for a product, i think i'll just save the effort for something else.....
i guess some of you don't mind the "specials " lead time for it to be produced.
to the people who did bother answering the poll many thanks and sorry.
In many commercial installations security and access lighting is required sunset to sunrise.
C-bus cable is a lot easier and cheaper to run to a weatherproof C-bus light level sensor than 240 volt cables to a conventional PE cell.
The enable/disable function makes it easy for maintainence during daylight hours, easier and cheaper than wiring conventional 240 volt overide switch.
As more commercial installations use C-bus the demand for this product is likely to increase

Yes, I would purchase the 5031PEWP,GY.
I have used the 5031PEWP,GY on quite a few jobs now.
In fact, all product that CIS have, should be listed regardless if it is a special order product or not.
