The old scene controllers seem to not run scenes when programmed with the tool kit they hold the group addresses in them but don't do anything, however when looking at the groups levels in "Groups" folder in project manager the scene controller is issuing comands but having no influence on the output module

Hi TR,

I'll have someone look at this today and we'll get back to you.

Hi TR,

Yes, we've found a problem in the Toolkit software with these units. Until we fix it, you'll need to use V2.7.9 to program that unit. My apologies.

Defect # 4102

This explains why my scene controller is doing wired things.

I tried reprogramming with V2.7.9 but this has not fixed the problem.

Is it possible that once programmed with toolkit it is not programmable by V2.7.9 either ??

It just does not turn on any loads... (it does seem to be able to turn them off)

Is there a way to factory default them ?

Hi Charles.. ugh.. nasty. I dont have a 5034NS at home to try.

Knowing what I do of the particular defect I would suspect that if you used the 2.7.9 software and FULLY filled the scene 'memory' that it would probably fix the problem. You could then subsequently trim the scene back to what you want.

More information as soon as I get to work tomorrow.

It is as if it has run out of memory ??

in 2.7.9

I can not change item from on/off to ramp (it takes more memory)

When you add new lines the bottom lines go red. (ie memory low)

How do you clear the memory ?

Hi Charlie... in V2, set up 9 Turn commands per scene and save them to the unit. This should "fill" the memory. Reload, configure to taste and save again.

Let us know if that works for you.

My experience with the 5034NS in Toolkit (and yes, version 1.1.3 of Toolkit does program the unit incorrectly) is that it will work provided that you program in a full complement of group info for each Scene. It seems to only start to misbehave when each Scene is not full.

I have found no problems when reverting to using V2 after programming with Toolkit 1.1.3. I can only suggest that you load up a new KEYSCEN4 in V2 from the database and transfer that too your unit. Hopefully that will restore it.

Regarding the memory thing, it takes 1/3 more memory to do a ramp to level command than it does to do an On or an Off command. By allowing the user to have up to 9 groups it's extending the units capabilities if they're just doing simple on/off type control. The other alternative would have been to limit the unit to only 6 groups per Scene across the board and we know of installations that use a full complement of 9 groups per Scene.

Incidentally, this was the first C-Bus product that was ever capable of Scenes.

This has now been fixed in the software and will be in the next release.
